Summer

I can't believe I go back to work in 2 weeks! I have had a blast staying home with Wy this summer. He has learned so much, and is learning more every day. We are working with him on sign language, so I posted a short clip of him doing what he knows. I will never know why God saw fit to bless us with such a perfect little boy! Love to all

Facebook

Cole and I are officially out of the Dark Ages-I joined Facebook last week. I was told by my brother if I wanted to keep up with my niece and nephew I had to have FB, so I caved in to the pressure of society. And boy am I overwhelmed-there's a lot going on outside the 4 walls of the Bosworth home! It's exciting to see what people are up to, especially the ones I haven't seen or heard from in forever. I'm living vicariously through my wild friends-one posted today that she's excited for TOKYO tonight!
What I am excited for is to find out what Derek and Em are having-I am saying boy. I am so happy for them!
Update on Wy: fell off the potty-training bandwagon, and fell hard. BUT...he is only 17 mos, so I'll pick it up in a few months. He can say (technically, repeat) his ABC's. I am also working on sign language with him-he can say milk, more, food, and sometimes please. It's pretty cute if I do say so myself-watch for videos soon. He's doing great-Cole and I are reminded daily of the great responsiblity and the even greater rewards of parenting.
Love to all, and hope to have this updated again soon!

Gross

Ok, today I bought Wy a potty chair-he's been saying "poo poo" when he feels like he needs to go, so since I'm home all summer I figured might as well give it a shot. If tonight is any indicator of what's to come, start a diaper fund now...I could tell by his face turning red that it was that time, so I yanked him out of his high chair (watching Pooh of all things) and rushed him to the bathroom. I yanked off his diaper to find it was rather runny Pooh, and apparently he had carrots at Monica's house today. Anyway, I put him on his potty to finish, which he did, gave him a few minutes, and cleaned him up. As I'm cleaning runny Pooh off of the potty chair, he proceeds to empty a grown man's size bladder on the bathroom floor only seconds after getting off of his poty chair. Cole's gagging, I'm laughing, and Wy's running around naked. If you were having a bad day before reading this, here's your laugh for the day. Love all-

Almost there

Well this time it's me posting (Amber)...Cole's been showing me up too much lately. I can not tell you how excited I am that I only have about 5 days of work left!! I don't what I'm going to do with myself all summer, but frankly I don't care as long as I'm not at work! I also am totally excited that Kelli's gonna have Sayleigh in less than 3 days! It seems like we've waited forever to see baby Sayleigh, and now it's just around the corner! I know Kelli's ready... I can remember those days. Anyway, don't have much time to chat this time, but I hope once school's out I'll have more time to keep this updated. We'll have trips and stuff to talk about, and hopefully funny pictures to share. D and Em-19 more days!!!!

Well I had a whole new topic on here last night. Then the computer went nuts and that was the end of that. I'm not sure I even remember what it was that I was saying. Just basically that Amber is excited because the school year is almost over. I don't blame her. Who wouldn't want 3 months paid vacation???
Not much going on around here, just life. We've got a busy summer coming up. We've talked about taking a family vacation but now I don't know if there is going to be any time for that. But it will all be fun I'm sure. That will also give us a reason to update this thing so we can show you what we did. I think our first fun thing is "A Toast to Elmer Kelton". It's a fundraiser deal for a new statue of him in the new library. He sure is an interesting guy and doesn't get much credit for some of the things that he has done. Oh well see ya later.......

Monday, April 6, 2009

Well yesterday I was standing in line at Wal-Mart.There was this old man next to me and we were both kind of eyeing each other up. I saw his belt buckle and asked him "What does DAV mean?" He goes on to tell me Disabled American Veterans." Then he started braggin about their organization and their building. After that he invites me to thier meetings for coffee. I couldn't help but laugh because he was such an interesting guy.

It got me thinking about how most of the people that volunteer to help are mostly ex military. I thought it showed a lot that this guy was so old but still helping and making an effort.

I've always got some new idea of what I want to do. I remember that this volunteering was one of them from the past that I never got around to. So hopefully I can get out there and be helpful to someone. You can never repay someone for going off to war for you and your family. Or much less serving their country as a soldier,or to their community as a policeman or firefighter.

So if you read this today, do what you can to help other people understand how easily it is we take things for granted. To realize that the "good ol' days" are NOW.To enjoy them. This was on the ACM's last night. It's moments like these that slow us down. If only we didn't need them sometimes to recognize what's important......

Wanted: Someone with energy

Well Wyatt wants to play now. I'm not sure what we are going to do when he starts walking. You know Amber and I used to laugh and feel sorry for those kids with leashes. You know you've seen them. But now I guess I can see there point.
